Ian Sinda


Chef Ian joined Boca Bistro in December 2017 as a line cook, was promoted to Sous Chef in April 2019, and became Executive Chef In early 2020. 

He began his culinary career as a dishwasher at age 15 at Lanzi’s on the Lake in Mayfield NY. Later he began to prep and fry cook and eventually worked his way up to running the line and working sautée. he worked and learned under the Lanzi family for nine years and It was here that he found a true appreciation for the culinary world.

Ian attended college pursuing a degree in criminal justice and sociology but could never get away from cooking. It was after that he walked into Boca Bistro looking for a job that allowed him to learn and grow as a cook.

“Cooking for me is always having the opportunity to learn something new, to discover something new and experience something new. I find great joy and pride in learning something new, especially when it’s something that doesn’t always come easy” says Ian. “One of the greatest parts of being a chef is working with my wonderful team. They allow me to be the best I can be. Without the team I wouldn’t be able to to do what I do and I am truly thankful for all of them.”
